VISA APPLICATION

The Visa Section of the Consulate-General processes visa applications for PRC nationals and other foreigners who require a visa to enter Singapore. To check if you require a visa to visit Singapore, please click here.

According to the Shanghai General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, Chinese passport holders who are travelling out of China on personal trips for the first time should apply for a visa from the foreign embassies/consulates in China. Visa Processing Fee

With effect from 1 April 2008, the visa processing fee will be revised to RMB 153 per application. The processing fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application or if the application is withdrawn after submission.

Processing Time

For PRC passport holders issued by the following cities, the processing time is 2 working days (including the day of submission) upon receipt of the completed application and no further verifications are required:-

Beijing, Chengdu, Dalian, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Kunming, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Xiamen, Tianjin, Xi'an, Chongqing, Harbin, Ji'nan, Qingdao, Wuxi

For other applications, it is usually 3 working days (including the day of submission) upon receipt of the completed application and no further verifications are required.

Submission of Visa Applications

Submission time is between 8.30am and 11.30 am.

Applicants may wish to submit their applications through an authorised agent.

The visa issued is normally dated on the day of submission and the validity of the visa cannot be changed once it is issued. Hence, please do not apply for the visa too early before your scheduled trip to Singapore (submit the application 2 weeks to 4 weeks before your trip). If the visa has expired, a new application has to be submitted. Applicants are therefore advised to check the visa issued date and its validity carefully upon collecting the visa.

Collection time is from 4.00 pm to 4.30 pm.

Important Notes

2. Incomplete forms and/or documents submitted may result in the application being rejected or the processing delayed.

3. Every application for a visa, including the duration of the visa granted, will be considered on its own merits and subject to approval.

4. Applicants should ensure that the visa applications are approved before they obtain their air ticket. The Consulate-General is not responsible for any financial loss in the event that the application is not successful.

5. The visa issued is normally dated on the day of submission and the validity of the visa cannot be changed once it is issued. Hence, please do not apply for the visa too early before your scheduled trip to Singapore (submit the application 2 weeks to 4 weeks before your trip). 6. Possession of a visa does not guarantee entry into Singapore. The granting of entry into Singapore is determined by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at the point of entry. Visitors must also meet entry requirements such as holding a valid passport, sufficient funds for the period of stay in Singapore and confirmed onward/return air ticket.

7. The period of stay in Singapore will be decided by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority Officer at the point of entry in Singapore. Applicants are advised to check their passports for the arrival endorsement and take note of the duration of stay given.
