ENTRY / VISA REQUIREMENTS

British Passport Holders do not require entry visas to Singapore for a short stay for the purpose of social visits or to attend business meetings / negotiations.

The granting of visit passes to visitors is determined by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at the point of entry. Visitors must satisfy the following basic entry requirements before they can be considered for entry into Singapore:

  • A passport with at least 6 months validity

  • Valid Singapore visa, if applicable
(Refer to the Visa Requirements page for more information)

  • Sufficient funds to last for the intended period of stay in Singapore

  • Confirmed onward/return tickets (where applicable)

  • Entry facilities to their onward destinations, e.g. visas.

  • Completed Disembarkation/Embarkation Card

  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, if applicable
(Please click here for information at ICA's website for countries endemic for yellow fever and Baggage Clearance)

The period of stay granted is shown on the visit pass endorsement given on the visitor's passport. Visitors are advised to check their passports for the arrival endorsement and take note of the number of days stay given before leaving the checkpoint.

All visitors on visit passes are not permitted to engage in any form of business, profession, occupation or paid employment while in Singapore.

Visitors are also reminded that it is a punishable offence to overstay in Singapore beyond the number of days given. If there is a need to stay beyond the period granted, visitors may apply for an extension of stay online via e-XTEND or at the Visitors Services Centre, 4th storey, ICA Building, before the visit pass expires. Application for extension of stay is subject to approval.

COUNTRIES REQUIRING ENTRY VISAS

Foreigners holding travel documents issued by the following countries (Click here) will require to apply for entry visas to visit Singapore for the purpose of social visits or to attend business meetings/negotiations for a short stay.

If you require to apply for an entry visa, you can request for an application pack by email to singhc_con_lon@sgmfa.gov.sg stating your nationality and the purpose of your visit to Singapore.

The processing time for Level 1 countries takes 3 working days while Level 2 countries will take 2 weeks.

TRANSIT PASSENGERS

Visitors who have arrived at Changi Airport Terminal 1 (T1), Terminal 2 (T2) or Terminal 3 (T3) and have confirmed air tickets for connecting flights out of T1, T2 or T3 can remain in the transit area shared by the three terminals without seeking immigration clearance, unless directed to do so by the authorities in Changi Airport.

However, if you need to enter into Singapore, you will have to seek immigration clearance and satisfy the prevailing entry requirements, which include possessing an entry visa where applicable. This also apply to visitors taking connecting flights between Budget Terminal (BT) and T1/T2/T3 as BT does not share a common transit area with the other terminals.

Please refer to Singapore Changi Airport's website at http://www.changiairport.com/in-transit/transit-information for information on your connecting flight.
