CONSULAR SERVICES

Singaporeans who require urgent consular assistance after office hours should call the above telephone numbers and they will be re-directed to a Consulate-General official.

Registration of Singaporeans overseas

All Singaporeans residing in Vietnam are encouraged to register with the Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City or Embassy in Hanoi (whichever is nearest). In an emergency, this will enable the Consulate-General or Embassy to contact Singaporeans and provide assistance quickly. Registration can be done on-line through the E-Register (click here).

Application for Singapore Passports

Singaporeans can apply for passport via the internet known as the "Application for Passport Online Electronic System". Applicants are required to pay the passport fee online using credit card and to attach a photograph image file in JPG format. For more details, click here.

Loss of Passports

If your passport is lost/stolen, you will need to do the following:

  1. Lodge a police report. English translation is required if the report is in Vietnamese (request for a copy of the report);

  2. Bring two passport-size photographs;

  3. Contact the Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City or Embassy in Hanoi. Bring a copy of the police report and documentary proof of your citizenship and your identity e.g. NRIC or copy of your passport.

Visa Application

The Consulate-General accepts visa applications from 9.00 am to 11.00 am and visa collection from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm from Monday to Friday. The processing time is three (3) working days. For example, visa application submitted on Monday morning will be ready for collection on Wednesday afternoon. For detailed information about visa requirements to Singapore, please click here.

Notarial Services

The Consulate-General also provides notarial services for official documents to be used in Vietnam and Singapore. Please bring along your passport or identity card as a form of identification should you require such service.

The processing time for notarial service is one (1) working day. Submission of documents is from 9.00 am to 11.00 am and collection hours is from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm on the next working day.

All Singapore legal documents such as Power of Attorney, Affidavit, Letter of Authorisation, etc must be executed before a lawyer/Notary Public in Singapore before it can be endorsed by this office.

Original documents must be produced for certifying true copy of the original.
