Passport Applicants
The Consular Section processes applications for Singapore passports. Application forms are available at the Mission or can be downloaded from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Homepage and from the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs Consular Homepage. Processing time is about 4 weeks.
Citizenship Registration
If a child is born in Switzerland and at least one parent is a Singapore citizen by birth, the parents may apply to register the child as a Singapore citizen by descent at the Mission. Parents should bring along with them their birth certificates, passports, identity cards, marriage certificate and the child's birth certificate. The registration should be as soon as it is convenient but before the child's first birthday.
Please note that at the time of the child's birth, the parents must be legally married.
If the father of the child is a citizen of Singapore by registration, the child would only be eligible for consideration as a citizen by descent provided the child would not acquire the citizenship of the country in which he was born by reason of birth in that country.
The citizenship status of your child is an important matter and should be treated as such. We strongly urge parents to seek advice on the subject from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority or the nearest Singapore Mission long before the birth of their child.
Since 1 January 1999, a child aged 15 years or below will be required to obtain its own passport. You need to first apply for the registration of the child as a Singapore citizen if your child is not yet a Singapore citizen. Upon approval of the application, the child will be formally registered as a Singapore citizen. Only then will the child be eligible for a Singapore International Passport (SIP). Please see the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Homepage for more information.
Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC)
Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC) is issued for immigration related purposes only. CNCC is issued to Singapore citizens, Singapore residents and foreigners who have resided in Singapore for more than six months and are above the age of 16. Application form for the CNCC could be obtained from the Mission. The completed form should be returned to the Mission. The Mission would forward to the relevant Singapore authorities to issue the applicant with the CNCC.
Notarial and Authentication Services
The Consular Section provides Notarial and authentication services for any documents issued by the Singapore Government Authorities.
Any documents not issued by the Singapore Government Authorities but which requires notarisation must be referred to a Notary Public first for notarisation. The Notarial Certificate then has to be presented to the proper authorities where the Notary Public's signature must be verified before presenting the Permanent Mission for attestation of signature.

The Consular Section processes visa applications for foreigners who require a visa to enter Singapore. Swiss nationals do not require a visa to enter Singapore. For detailed information about visa requirements to Singapore, please see the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Homepage for more information.
