Visit of Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew to Saudi Arabia, 17 to 23 January 2008

Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew is visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 17 to 23 January 2008, during which he will cover Jeddah (17-19 January) and Riyadh (19 to 23 January).

In Jeddah, Minister Mentor met senior government officials and received a briefing on the King Abdullah Economic City.


In Riyadh, Minister Mentor will be speaking at the Global Competitiveness Forum, which is organised by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority. Minister Mentor will also meet with members of the Saudi Royal family, other leaders, senior officials and leading businessmen.

Minister Mentor is accompanied by Mrs Lee, Council of Presidential Advisers Member Mr Yong Pung How and Mrs Yong, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr Zainul Abidin Rasheed, Minister of State for Trade and Industry Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Member of Parliament Mr Zaqy Mohamad; and Special Advisor for Economic Development (Prime Minister's Office), Senior Advisor for Science and Technology (Ministry of Trade & Industry) and Chairman, SPRING Singapore Mr Philip Yeo.
