New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on 18 April 2007.

Both leaders discussed issues relating to upcoming regional and multilateral fora, including the East Asia Summit in Nov 2007 that Singapore will be hosting, and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Uganda. They also reaffirmed the close bilateral relations between the two countries, and exchanged views on regional developments. Mr Lee thanked Prime Minister Clark for the assistance provided by New Zealand for the SAF's deployment to Afghanistan in May. After the call, Mr and Mrs Lee hosted lunch for Prime Minister Clark and Prof Peter Davies.
